Mother’s Day Painting & Brunch

Where: Uptown Art: 426 Bank Street #100

When: 2 pm - 4:30 pm

Cost: $35 per person

C’mon, what’s better than art and food? Bring mom to paint your choice of tulips or hearts and enjoy a light brunch.  Cost includes canvas, paint materials, and brunch. Did we mention there’s $5 mimosas too?


Live Music

Where: Cox’s Hot Chicken & Sports: 110 E Main St

When: 2 pm - 5 pm

Cost: Varies with menu

Mother’s Day Brunch

Moms Fish Free

Where: Kopp’s Lakes: 521 Kopp Rd.

When: 6 am - 10 pm

Cost: Free for moms with your paid admission (Click here for pricing info)

Relax with a day of fishing at Kopp’s Lakes! Moms get in free with your paid admission and can be entered to win prizes like t-shirts, rods, free passes, and more.




Karma Yoga Class

Where: 502 Power Yoga: 200 Missouri Ave.

When: 4 pm - 5:15 pm

Cost: $5

Stretch with mom for a good cause! This 75-minute Power Vinyasa yoga class benefits the local Make-A-Wish foundation.


Live Music

Where: Kingfish Jeffersonville: 601 W Riverside Dr

When: 4 pm - 8 pm

Cost: Varies with menu

Treat mom to live music and delicious eats. Murdoch and The Chill are performing.



MAEC Mother’s Day Spring Art Show

Where: Mellwood Art & Entertainment Center (MAEC): 1860 Mellwood Ave

When: 11 am - 5 pm

Cost: Free parking & admission

There’s lots to do with mom at this art show! Browse and/or purchase art from over 40 local artists, eat, and drink. You can even make your own flower arrangement! Art varies from jewelry to home decor and ranges from $15-$1500.


Mother’s Day Paint N’ Sip

Where: Wick’s Pizza in the Highlands: 975 Baxter Ave

When: 1 pm - 4 pm

Cost: $55 for two canvasses and cupcakes

Learn to paint a cherry blossom tree in this artist-guided class! Food and drinks from Wick’s available for separate purchase. Buy tickets in advance.


Shakespeare in the Parks Tour

Where: Broad Run Park: 11551 Bardstown Rd or Norton Commons: 10712 Meeting St.

When: Broad Run Park: 2 pm - 3:30 pm ; Norton Commons: 6:30 pm - 8 pm

Cost: Free

Does your mom love The Bard? There’s two chances to see Kentucky Shakespeare perform “Macbeth” on Sunday: 2 pm at Broad Run Park or 6:30 pm at Norton Commons. See website for rain spaces.


Ford Mother’s Day at the Zoo

Where: Louisville Zoo: 1100 Trevilian Way

When: 10 am - 5 pm

Cost: Free for moms; general admission for others

The zoo’s annual treat to moms is back! Mothers get free zoo admission courtesy of Ford Motor Company. There will also be treats and scavenger hunts available while supplies last.


Mother’s Day at the Downs

Where: Churchill Downs

When: Gates open at 11:30 am; Last race at 5:45 pm

Cost: Pricing varies

Still not over the excitement of the Derby? Celebrate mom at the track! Live racing all day with brunch or buffet options. Free general admission for mothers when accompanied by her child. Reserved dining pricing starts at $52.


Mother’s Day with the Louisville Bats

Where: Louisville Slugger Field: 401 E Main St.

When: 2 pm

Cost: Pricing varies

Take mom out to the ballgame! Mom and kids can play catch on the field after the game. Lots of promos for the kiddos too: Kids 12 & younger eat free, can run the bases after the game, and more!
